ACADEMIC PREDICTIONHELP CENTER
Public AccessWelcome to the NovaSight Academic Affairs Help Center. NovaSight uses machine learning to turn uploaded grade records into early-warning dropout risk, GWA forecasts, and enrollment trends. This page covers what NovaSight is and how to get access. Sign in for guidance specific to your role.
Getting Started
You're viewing the public Help Center, so no account is needed for this page. To view live dashboards or manage your account, sign in using the Login button in the top-right corner.
What This System Does
Once grade data is uploaded, the system automatically cleans and processes it, then runs it through trained prediction models covering:
- Dropout risk and student retention, including a male/female breakdown
- GWA ranking and GWA trends per college
- Incomplete-grade (INC) rate forecasting
- Irregular vs. regular enrollment status
- Enrollment headcount forecasting per college
- Hardest subjects, ranked by historical grade difficulty
Results are organized by college CAHS, CBA, CCST, CEA, COAS, and CTEC, so each dean can focus on their own department, while Academic Affairs, Registrar, MISO, and SASO sees the full picture across all six. Student records are referenced only by an anonymized student ID, never by name so no individual identity is exposed on any dashboard.
Dashboards
Once signed in, the Main Dashboard or your college dashboard shows student performance analytics and prediction summaries. Every dashboard has a mode toggle: Historical mode shows real, already-recorded data, while Prediction mode switches the same charts to NovaSight's forecast for future years — look for the dashed trend line and the "Predicted" label.
Account Roles
Access is role-based, and each role sees a Help page tailored to what they do:
- MISO creates and manages user accounts for the system
- Academic Affairs, MISO uploads the student grade dataset that powers every prediction
- Deans, Registrar, and SASO view dashboards and predictions for their area
If you need an account, please contact the system administrator (MISO).

Common Issues
I can't log in.
Double-check your email and password, and confirm Caps Lock is off. If you still can't sign in, contact the system administrator (MISO) to verify your account is active.
The dashboard is empty.
Make sure at least one dataset has been uploaded and processed successfully for the selected college, year, and semester.
A chart shows a flat line or an unrealistic jump.
Forecast charts need enough historical years to detect a reliable trend. With only a few years of data, a forecast can look unusually flat or steep — this smooths out as more historical data is uploaded.
I don't see an Upload option.
Uploading grade data is limited to MISO and Academic Affairs accounts. If your role needs upload access, contact the system administrator.
Need Assistance?
If the problem persists, please contact the NovaSight system administrator (MISO) or the development team for further assistance.
